Freeths—Graeme Danby & John Jeffreys

Firms strengthens national restructuring and insolvency practice with leadership appointments

Freeths has unveiled a new leadership structure for its restructuring & insolvency practice, appointing Graeme Danby as national head of insolvency and John Jeffreys as national head of restructuring. The firm said the changes reflect its ambition to strengthen its market-leading position and build on recent success in the Insolvency and Companies List, where it ranked as the highest performer by claim volume for the second year running.

Together bringing more than five decades of experience, Danby and Jeffreys will focus on sharpening Freeths’ traditional insolvency offering while accelerating the growth of its restructuring capabilities. Danby (pictured, right), who previously led the firm’s debt recovery & creditor services team, has spent over 12 years managing key insolvency practitioner relationships across the UK. Jeffreys (left), formerly a partner at DLA Piper and at Freeths for over five years, brings deep experience in large, complex restructuring assignments across sectors including real estate, automotive, infrastructure and retail.

Danby said he ‘looks forward to taking on this role and continuing to build on Freeths’ strong reputation in the insolvency market’, adding that the team remains committed to ‘delivering exceptional service’ while strengthening national relationships. Jeffreys noted that by collaborating across the firm, the pair will support clients facing financial pressures, saying they are ‘excited at the prospect of driving forward and continuing the growth of Freeths’ national offering’.

Freeths’ national restructuring & insolvency team advises insolvency practitioners, lenders, corporates and wider stakeholders, providing both traditional insolvency expertise and innovative solutions for complex restructuring and recovery mandates.
