Partner appointment expands residential development team in the South

Gateley Legal has appointed Tim Wheen as a partner in its Guildford office, further strengthening its specialist residential development team in the South. Tim brings 16 years of experience advising housebuilders and developers on joint ventures, consortium agreements, and strategic land matters.

Previously at Foot Anstey, Tim (pictured, left) has advised on a wide range of issues including conditional and simple contracts, overages, and environmental concerns. ‘Gateley Legal’s residential development team has an outstanding reputation… it’s great to be joining at such an exciting time,’ he said.

His appointment follows recent growth in the firm’s London team, as Gateley continues to support clients across the South with large-scale regeneration, urban redevelopment, and Build-to-Rent schemes. Tim will play a key role in delivering legal and consultancy services to housebuilders, developers, and land promoters.

Andy Wilson (right), partner and national head of residential development, welcomed the hire: ‘Tim brings a lot of valuable experience which will really help with strengthening our offering.’ Gateley Legal currently acts for 18 of the UK’s top 20 housebuilders and handles around £2.5 billion in residential plot sales annually.
