Hard work at tribunal

Senior President of Tribunals' annual report is published

A judicial mediation service offered by the employment tribunals has proved “popular”, with savings in England and Wales “in excess of 70%”, according to the tribunal’s president, David Latham, in the Senior President of Tribunals’ annual report, published this week. It is available for cases likely to last three or more days. North of the border, Shona Simon, President of Employment Tribunals (Scotland), reported that 35 judicial mediation hearings took place in the last year, with a 77% success rate, saving an estimated 89.5 hearing days.
