Global aviation disputes practice boosted by London partner hire

HFW has appointed Guy Marrison as a partner in its market-leading aerospace practice, strengthening its aviation disputes capability in London. He joins from Hogan Lovells, where he advised across complex aviation and aviation finance litigation.

Marrison specialises in disputes for lessors, airlines, banks and funds, with experience spanning contractual and technical claims, financings, repossessions, enforcement, regulatory action, fraud and contentious insolvencies. He has acted on high-value matters in the English High Court and Court of Appeal, as well as multi-jurisdictional investigations involving regulators including the FCA, SEC and DOJ.

David Brotherton, global head of aerospace, said Marrison brings ‘genuine expertise and experience in complex, high-value aviation-focused commercial litigation’, describing this as ‘a growth area for our global aerospace practice’. Edward Spencer, head of aerospace insurance & disputes, added that he is ‘a highly regarded practitioner’ who will help ‘broaden further our disputes capability’.

Marrison said: ‘I am thrilled to be joining the market-leading aerospace team at HFW.’ He added that the firm’s ‘sector-based approach, deep industry knowledge, and excellent aviation client base were major draws for me’.
