Hill Dickinson—Joz Coetzer & Marc Naidoo

London hires to lead UK launch of international finance team

Hill Dickinson has strengthened its international finance practice with the appointment of Joz Coetzer and Marc Naidoo, who join the firm to lead the UK launch of the international finance team from its London office. The hires support the firm’s focus on expanding opportunities across Asia, Africa and other international markets.

The international finance practice has grown significantly since 2018, building on cross-border marine and asset finance work and now comprising more than 15 partners and 30 lawyers across six offices. The appointments will further connect the firm’s banking and finance capability with its wider strengths in corporate, M&A, construction, tax, insolvency, litigation and planning, alongside its international offices.

Fiona Parry, head of business services, said the firm is ‘delighted to welcome Joz and Marc’ and that their ‘expertise and networks in emerging markets align perfectly’ with ongoing investment across the international platform. She added that the appointments will ‘enhance our ability to deliver flexible, high-value legal services’ on complex cross-border transactions.

Coetzer said Hill Dickinson has built a ‘strong international finance capability’ and that he is ‘excited to lead, with Marc, the next phase of growth’, while Naidoo described the move as a ‘tremendous opportunity’ to integrate sustainable and developmental finance as the firm secures ‘new opportunities in Asia, Africa and emerging markets’.
