London office gains dual-qualified trade partner

Hogan Lovells has announced the addition of Aline Doussin as a new partner in its London office.

Aline, who is dual-qualified to practise in both France and the UK, joins the firm from her previous position as a partner with Squire Patton Boggs. She will now sit as partner of Hogan Lovells’ international trade and investment practice and its government regulatory practice. Aline’s areas of expertise in the international trade arena include sanctions and export controls, EU regulations, and cybersecurity. She also has experience advising third world country governments on legislative drafting and the negotiation of free trade agreements.

Susan Bright, the regional managing partner for the UK and Africa, commented: ‘Aline's presence in London will significantly add to our existing trade capabilities in the UK and regionally across Europe. Her broad practice includes customs, trade controls, compliance and sanctions matters, which will add further depth to our recognized trade practice. In addition, her experience will be of particular importance as the UK continues with its plans to withdraw from the EU, where we are working closely with our clients on a range of issues, including dealing with the impact on their global supply chains.’

Co-head of the international trade and investment group, Lourdes Catrain, added: ‘We are so excited to have Aline join our global trade practice and our clients in the UK and the EU will benefit from her expertise. We have seen over the last years and certainly, in the last month, with the numerous trade contentious issues between the US, the EU and China, the increasing importance that trade laws and policy decisions have on our clients' operations throughout the EU and elsewhere. Adding Aline to our existing team will allow us to respond to these growing needs.’
