NLJ consultant editor David Greene will be speaking at a session on the use of technology when providing pro bono services, due to take place next month as part of the International Bar Association (IBA) annual conference
IBA 2020―Virtually Together will take place remotely 2-27 November, with a wide variety of sessions featuring an eminent group of speakers.
Among these, look out for the IBA Pro Bono Committee session on 3 November, 4pm-5pm GMT on the topic, ‘The use of technology in pro bono―advantages, pitfalls and lessons learned’. It will look at what has and has not worked, how to design systems that meet the needs of users, blockchain technology and the digitisation of the free legal advice community.
The speakers are: Edwin Coe senior partner, David Greene, who will by then be President of the Law Society; Ana Higuera Garrido, directora de pro bono, Fundación Fernando Pombo (Spain); and James Harper, director, customer success and engagement, LexisNexis (UK). The discussion will be chaired by Nigel Roberts, VP & Secretary, LexisNexis Rule of Law Foundation.
