Irwin Mitchell has welcomed Grace Morahan to its family team, bolstering the firm’s international divorce practice as part of wider growth plans. Already qualified in Australia, Grace previously practised at Broun Abrahams Burreket in Sydney, where she advised high-net-worth families on complex cross-border disputes.
She joins a specialist international divorce group led by Clare Wiseman, with whom she will work closely, alongside team member April Wood, who is dual-qualified in Australia and England. Together they will continue to support clients as part of the wider high net worth and international team led by Claire-Marie Cornford.
Clare Wiseman said: ‘We’re seeing a significant increase in international family law work, particularly across the Asia-Pacific region and Grace’s arrival is a key part of our strategy to meet this growing demand.’ She highlighted that lawyers qualified in multiple jurisdictions can ‘identify which jurisdiction offers the fairest or most advantageous outcome’ and advise on disputes before proceedings begin.
She added: ‘Grace’s experience and insight will be invaluable as we continue to grow our international offering.’
