Judicial business

Challenging incorrect media reporting and extending outreach to schools are among the outcomes for 2020-21 promised by the Judicial Office in its business plan, published this week

Other pledges include ensuring judges receive key information from the senior judiciary about developments affecting them, and increasing transparency through broadcasting of Crown Court sentencing remarks and expanding live streaming from the Court of Appeal.

However, chief executive Andrew Key said: ‘Our highest priority at this time is to support the leadership of the judiciary as they work to keep the justice system running through the pandemic.’
