Kingsley Napley—three appointments

Firm announces triple partner hire

Kingsley Napley LLP has welcomed three partners to the firm—John Young, David Davies and Will MacFarlane. Their appointments bring the firm’s partner total to 66.

John Young has joined the corporate and commercial team. He specialises in advising entrepreneurial, high growth and family businesses, from start-up through to listing and beyond. He also advises on the UK regulatory treatment of cryptocurrencies, as well as assisting with fundraising via initial coin offerings.

Also joining the corporate and commercial team is David Davies, who has come on board from Bates Wells. His practice covers all aspects of corporate law, advising businesses, investors and management on transactional matters, including restructuring, partnerships and corporate governance matters. He has particular experience advising on transactions in the technology sector.

Will MacFarlane has joined the firm’s family and divorce team. He advises clients on the full range of family law issues arising on the breakdown of relationships, with particular expertise in resolving complex financial claims, often with an international element. Will regularly represents professional sportspeople as well as individuals and families on wealth protection issues and nuptial and cohabitation agreements.

James Fulforth, head of corporate & commercial at Kingsley Napley, commented: ‘We are very excited to welcome John and David to our partnership and to the Corporate & Commercial team. They both bring extensive experience and complementary areas of expertise to our practice. They will help to strengthen and enhance our offering to clients, support further growth in our technology and investment groups, and increase our capability in relation to capital markets, cryptocurrencies and coin/token offerings.’

Charlotte Bradley, head of family and divorce, added: ‘We are absolutely thrilled that Will has joined our partnership and the Family & Divorce team. He has a great reputation in the market and is an excellent fit for our expanding family team, including the recent appointments of Abby Buckland and Connie Atkinson as new partners. Will brings a wealth of experience to assist our clients, including those with international connections, and further strengthens our financial practice.’
