Kingsley Napley—Tristan Cox-Chung

Firm bolsters restructuring and insolvency team with partner hire

Kingsley Napley has welcomed Tristan Cox-Chung as a partner in its restructuring & insolvency team. Tristan joins from Clyde & Co, where he spent eight years, most recently as a legal director, following earlier roles at Penningtons Manches Cooper and DMH Stallard. He specialises in both contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters, including fraud-related work, complex cross-border disputes, restructurings and multi-faceted transactions. His experience also includes seeking recognition of foreign insolvency processes in England & Wales.

Tristan has advised a wide range of clients — from insolvency practitioners and lenders to investors, private equity firms, pension schemes, directors and corporate clients — helping them navigate complex financial and legal challenges. His broad expertise aligns closely with the firm’s growing focus on high-stakes restructuring and contentious insolvency issues.

Head of restructuring & insolvency Dan Sejas said he is ‘delighted to have Tristan on board’, noting that his experience in suspected fraud, asset recovery and disputes is ‘a great fit for Kingsley Napley’. He added that rising demand for specialist insolvency knowledge makes Tristan ‘an excellent addition to the team’.

Tristan said he is looking forward to working with Dan and colleagues, highlighting his experience advising ‘all kinds of stakeholders on the risks and issues arising from financial distress and insolvency situations’. He added that he is ‘very much looking forward to continuing my practice at a firm known for its expertise in crisis and dispute resolution’.
