John Ford, of John Ford Solicitors, a small north London legal aid practice focusing on public law disputes, is appealing to solicitors for help with a fighting fund to take on the Legal Aid Agency over its assessment of legal aid and payment of costs. The money will be used to fund a legal challenge against a decision that could mean the end of funding for any appeal solely concerned with costs. For more information, contact John Ford’s office. Ford argues in this week’s NLJ that the reforms of civil litigation funding have encouraged greed and excessive costs.
