Lewis Silkin

Partner promotions in England & Wales

Lewis Silkin has announced three partner promotions in its UK offices, including two in London and one in Cardiff.

In London, the first of the two names joining the partnership is Alexander Milner-Smith, who began at Lewis Silkin in 2009 after qualifying at K&L Gates. He advises on all aspects on employment law, particularly litigation and sports-related cases, and also specialises in data protection and workplace privacy. In April 2017 he became managing associate of the employment, data protection and sports department, and will now act as partner in the same team.

The second addition to the London office’s partnership is Emily Meredith-Hardy. She joined Lewis Silkin as a managing associate in 2015, after almost twelve years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Emily specialises in commercial real estate matters, and sits as part of the retail, hospitality and leisure, and sports business sector groups.

In Cardiff, Richard Moore has also been promoted to partner. He joined the firm in 2015 from Eversheds, and became managing associate in the employment department in April 2017. He regularly advises on a wide range of employment matters, and has a particular focus on handling employment issues arising from corporate M&A deals.

In addition to the three promotions enacted within the UK, Lewis Silkin’s Hong Kong office also saw employment law expert Kathryn Weaver moving to the partnership.

Commenting on this round of promotions, chief executive Ian Jeffery said: ‘We are excited to welcome all four of these outstanding individuals to the partnership, across our international network of offices. Their commitment and achievement on behalf of the firm and our clients is to be commended, and we look forward to their continued contribution to Lewis Silkin’s growth and development in the UK and overseas.’

In March, Lewis Silkin also announced its expansion into Ireland with the opening of its Dublin office, where employment specialist Siobhra Rush joined as a partner.
