The Attorney General’s Office has announced that the Attorney General (AG), Victoria Prentis KC MP, visited the growing government legal hub in Manchester as part of the 2023 Law Tour.

Lexis®Library update: The AG met more than 70 HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and Government Legal Department (GLD) lawyers and civil servants at the New Bailey in Salford. The visit was part of a three-day regional tour to promote the government legal profession in the North and West Midlands, following expansion of the GLD in the North West in April 2023.

HMRC and the GLD will also continue the government’s ‘Places for Growth’ programme, and the North West has seen the most roles created so far under the programme.
