LNB NEWS: Law Society calls for UK to join Hague 2019 Convention

The Law Society has, in response to the government consultation, called for the UK to join the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil or Commercial Matters (Hague 2019) as soon as possible.

Lexis®Library update: The Law Society explained that rejoining will improve the recognition and enforcement of UK judgments in other jurisdictions, increasing both the confidence and reputation of UK courts and law. This is so long as it does not stop the UK from acceding to the Lugano Convention.
