LNB News: Law Society seeks views on Leasehold Reform (Ground Rent) Bill 2021

The Law Society has announced that it is seeking views on the new Leasehold Reform (Ground Rent) Bill 2021, which was introduced in the Queen’s speech on 11 May 2021, and endeavours to prevent the onerous raising of ground rents from affecting future leaseholders. 

Lexis®Library update: According to the Law Society, some have already expressed concerns that the current scope and definition of rent may need to be addressed in order to prevent future disputes. It welcomes views on the Bill until 12 pm on 1 June 2021.
