Martyn Day—University of Warwick

Top environmental lawyer awarded honorary Doctor of Laws degree

Leading environmental lawyer and former director of the Greenpeace Environmental Trust Martyn Day has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by the University of Warwick.

In a statement the University said: "Martyn is identified as a star individual and described as without question one of the most knowledgeable and experienced environmental lawyers in the country.

“He is also identified as a real fighter for his clients—he is very shrewd and does it with great charm.”

As the senior partner of the law firm Leigh Day, Martyn currently heads a team of over 20 lawyers that specialises in international, environment and product liability claims. Further to this, he is an executive committee member of the Society of Labour Lawyers and a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.

The ceremony to award the degree will take place during the University's 2014 summer graduations.
