DAC Beachcroft boosts Global Insurance Practice with new partner appointment

DAC Beachcroft has appointed Matthew Olorenshaw, a specialist in construction and engineering-related disputes, as a partner in its global insurance practice.

Matthew, who joins from DWF LLP where he was also a partner, advises major insurers on defending complex claims against construction professionals, particularly architects, engineers, design and build contractors and specialist building consultants.

He has also acted directly for developers, contractors and subcontractors involved in complicated, high-value construction-related disputes both in the UK and abroad.  Recent work has included advising insurers on a dispute arising from construction defects at a major UK hospital, and losses arising from a power failure at a large UK data centre.

Based at DAC Beachcroft's Minster Court office in London, Matthew joins a market-leading team of experts who focus entirely on handling construction professional negligence claims for insurers both in the UK and internationally, working with the firm's international offices and its Legalign partner firms.

Commenting on the appointment, Helen Faulkner, Head of Insurance at DAC Beachcroft, said: "We're delighted to welcome Matthew to the team and we are very much looking forward to working with him.  His technical excellence and breadth of experience from having worked on numerous high profile, high value construction-related claims for both insurers and directly for developers and contractors will be a great asset to our team."

Matthew added: "I'm very pleased to be joining a team which has such a strong reputation in both the construction professional indemnity and pure construction fields."
