McDermott Will & Schulte—Owen Jones

European real estate finance team bolstered by partner hire in London

McDermott Will & Schulte has appointed Owen Jones as partner in its transactions practice group, based in the London office. His arrival marks a key step in the firm’s expansion of real estate finance capabilities across Europe, following a series of strategic hires last year.

Owen joins from Tristan Capital Partners, where he was executive director, advising on complex debt investments across the UK and continental Europe. His practice includes senior and mezzanine financing, development funding and loan restructurings. Harris Siskind, global head of transactions, said: ‘Owen is an excellent lawyer with strong commercial instincts and a collaborative approach.’

Aymen Mahmoud, managing partner in London, praised Owen’s ‘dynamic and commercially attuned perspective’, while Jens Ortmanns, global head of real estate, added: ‘We were impressed by his energy and technical precision… we’re confident our clients will benefit from Owen’s deep market knowledge and strong relationships.’

Owen’s appointment reflects McDermott’s continued investment in high-calibre talent to meet the evolving needs of institutional sponsors and lenders across jurisdictions. His experience is expected to enhance the firm’s full-service real estate platform and support its global client base.
