Mewburn Ellis has announced that Amy Crouch has joined the firm as a partner, strengthening its patent litigation practice in the UK and across Europe. Crouch is a life sciences specialist with significant experience in high-profile pharmaceutical disputes, including the UK’s first gene therapy patent case to reach trial.
The new partner brings expertise across the spectrum of patent disputes, from small molecules and biologics to multi-jurisdictional litigation. She has also coordinated strategies across Europe and the US, integrating approaches with EPO opposition proceedings and UPC litigation. ‘Her arrival reflects our ongoing commitment to our international litigation offering,’ said chairperson Richard Johnson.
Crouch’s appointment comes after the hire of partner Camilla Balleny in May 2025 as head of patent litigation. Together with Matthew Naylor, who leads the firm’s UPC practice, the firm is expanding its ability to advise clients on the rapidly evolving European patent litigation landscape. Mewburn Ellis also recently announced the addition of Susannah Dragosavac, a digital health and med-tech litigation specialist, further reinforcing its growth trajectory.
Commenting on her move, Crouch said: ‘I’m thrilled to be joining Mewburn Ellis at such an exciting time in the firm’s growth. With its expanding litigation capabilities and excellent reputation in the life sciences sector, the firm is ideally placed to support clients through the increasingly complex landscape of pan-European patent disputes.’
