Mewburn Ellis—Paul Dunne

New partner in Bristol & expansion plans in Munich

IP firm Mewburn Ellis has expanded its UK partnership with the promotion of patent specialist Paul Dunne in Bristol.

Paul has been with the firm since 2010, when he started as a patent technical assistant. He now works as part of its chemistry and materials team, and specialises in the industrial chemistry, nanotech and pharmaceutical sectors, providing advice on patent drafting, prosecution, oppositions and appeals.

In addition to Paul’s appointment boosting the total Mewburn Ellis partnership to 41, the firm has also reported expansion overseas. The firm opened an office in Munich in November 2017, and has now announced its plans to move into larger premises in the city in May. This is to accommodate the recent growth of the Munich team, which saw partner Dydra Donath join earlier this year.

Patrick Stoner, a partner in the Bristol office, commented on the announcements: ‘Paul has become an invaluable member of the Mewburn Ellis team since joining us in 2010 and we are delighted to have him now in a partnership position. The firm is in an important period of growth. The partnership is expanding, we have new Munich premises and later in 2018 we will move to new, larger offices in Bristol and Cambridge. It’s an exciting time.’
