Moore Barlow—Joanna Earl, Thomas Denman & Lauren Johnson

Private wealth disputes team expands in Surrey with new solicitor trio

Moore Barlow has strengthened its private wealth disputes team with the appointment of three new solicitors, underscoring the firm’s continued investment in this growing practice area and marking the team as one of the largest outside London. Newly qualified solicitors Joanna Earl and Thomas Denman, who both trained at the firm, join alongside Lauren Johnson, an experienced solicitor arriving from Blandy & Blandy LLP.

Earl, who qualified in September, was attracted to Moore Barlow by its supportive culture, strong focus on career progression and high proportion of female partners. She has already established herself within the wider legal community, serving as vice president of the Surrey Junior Lawyer Division and as the Southwest London regional contact for LegalRunner. Denman, who qualified via the SQE route, chose to remain with the firm for its diverse practice areas, quality work and commitment to work-life balance.

Johnson brings more than six years of experience, including two years as a qualified solicitor, having worked across private wealth disputes, commercial disputes and property litigation in both the County Courts and High Court. Now specialising in private wealth disputes, she handles inheritance act matters, capacity-related claims, contested estates and TOLATA cases.

Scott Taylor, head of private wealth disputes, said he is ‘delighted to welcome Joanna, Thomas and Lauren’, noting that retaining Earl and Denman ‘speaks volumes about the quality of talent we’re developing’. He added that Johnson brings ‘excellent experience and a strong track record’ that will deepen the team’s capability. Their arrival follows the firm’s successful September intake, which saw eight newly qualified solicitors retained across several practice areas.
