Muckle LLP—Rachael Chapman

Sports, education and charities practice welcomes senior associate

Muckle LLP has expanded its sports, education and charities team with the appointment of experienced charities lawyer Rachael Chapman as a senior associate. Originally from Gateshead, Chapman brings almost a decade of experience and further strengthens the firm’s support for its purpose-driven clients.

Chapman trained and qualified at a Magic Circle firm before gaining broad cross-sector experience as both a law-firm solicitor and an in-house lawyer for national Government and private-sector organisations. At Muckle, she will advise charities, not-for-profits, sports clubs and educational bodies on a range of matters, particularly governance and commercial issues.

Explaining her commitment to the sector, Chapman said she was drawn to charity law because she ‘wanted to make a difference’, adding: ‘I really value being able to see how my work has a positive impact on real people.’ She noted that her passion for ‘doing good’ aligned strongly with Muckle’s ethos, saying the firm ‘really cares about its clients, communities and people’. She added that she already feels settled and ‘can’t wait to get stuck in’ to the team’s varied work.

Joanne Davison, partner and team head, welcomed the appointment, saying Chapman’s extensive sector knowledge and personable approach make her ‘a perfect fit for the team’. Muckle’s sports, education and charities team is ranked top tier regionally for education and charities, and nationally for sport in the Legal 500.
