Residential conveyancing team expands with solicitor hire

Myers & Co has expanded its residential conveyancing team with the appointment of solicitor Jess Latham. Before choosing to specialise in property, Latham gained broad experience across family, civil litigation, landlord and tenant, and criminal law. She now advises clients on buying and selling homes, buy-to-let matters, equity transfers, and property issues arising in divorce cases.

A graduate of Staffordshire University, Latham completed both her law degree and LPC there, and her advocacy skills saw her represent England at the International Criminal Court Moot Competition in The Hague in 2019. She trained at a Stoke firm and qualified as a solicitor in 2022, bringing strong regional knowledge to her new role.

Managing director Tim Newsome said Latham had ‘fitted straight into our busy conveyancing team’, praising her enthusiasm and ‘broad experience of more complex transactions’. He added that continued buoyancy in the property market had driven demand for conveyancing work and that the firm expects this to continue ‘well into 2026’.

Latham said she was ‘excited to join the team at Myers’ and looked forward to developing her career within the practice. She described the firm as ‘well-known’ with ‘a great reputation’, and noted that being part of the MAPD Group strengthens the value it can offer to the community. She added she is ‘excited to be playing my part in making a positive difference to our client base’.
