NLJ this week: Managing the judges?

206031
Retired judge Dr Victoria McCloud shares her thoughts regarding judicial ‘leadership’, social media guidance and the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office, in this week’s NLJ.

Should judges manage other judges, or be prevented from posting their profile on LinkedIn? ‘One’s instinct is to recoil from notions of judges being “led”, “managed” or otherwise ovine,’ writes McCloud, who is a consultant at W-Legal Solicitors, Gatehouse Chambers, CADR & Westwood Mediation.

‘It does not help a judiciary, which is mistrusted by some amid fears of secrecy, if it appears that judges “manage” other judges as their “bosses”.’
