Solicitor newest trustee of LGBT+ charity

Molly Frankham, a dispute resolution solicitor with the Colchester office of Birkett Long LLP, has been appointed as a trustee of Outhouse East, an Essex-based charity offering information and support to the LGBT+ community.

As a trustee, Molly will take charge of governance of Outhouse East, and together with its other trustees, will work to ensure that it continues to benefit the community which it serves. The charity provides support to individuals and communities through counselling and LGBT+ awareness sessions.

Molly said: ‘I consider it incredibly important that each and every person is treated equally and with the upmost respect. Looking at the LGBT+ community, I have friends and family who have had experiences which fall far short of this. As a result, these experiences affect the way they live their lives and this is not right. The core values Outhouse East reflects are that of diversity, equality, engagement, innovation, integrity and excellence. With these values at the forefront, both Outhouse East and Birkett Long are working towards the same goal.’

Chairman of trustees Martin Gillingham added: ‘We are delighted to welcome Molly on board as a trustee, her professional background is a huge asset to us and as a younger member of the board and as a woman, this ensures we have diversity in the trustees which in turn helps us to be in tune with the community and ensure we provide services that are relevant. We are very much enjoying working with Molly on a variety of projects.’
