Double promotion at firm's Birmingham office
Freeths LLP has announced two promotions at its Birmingham office as the firm continues to grow its construction and corporate teams.
The firm’s recent round of promotions has seen Perveen Akhter promoted to partner in the construction team and Ateeq Ahmed promoted to director in the corporate team. Both Perveen and Ateeq have a combined total of over 20 years of experience in the Birmingham market.
Perveen joined Freeths in March 2015 from SGH Martineau LLP (now Shakespeare Martineau LLP) as a senior associate. Her experience includes work in both the private and public sector with a specialism in non-contentious building procurement and renewable energy products. In her new role as partner, Perveen will continue to oversee the company’s growing portfolio of construction clients in Birmingham, working closely with the real estate, energy and corporate teams.
Ateeq, a corporate specialist, has been instrumental to the phenomenal growth in the Birmingham corporate team over the last three years and will continue to bring expert knowledge to the firm’s major corporate group. In the last 12 months Ateeq has advised a number of major corporates including Travis Perkins and Tarmac.
Richard Beverley, managing partner at Freeths in Birmingham, says: “Our Birmingham office is experiencing a period of substantial growth and while this means we’re bringing a lot of new people to the firm, we’re still committed to developing the talented individuals already here.“
Lee Clifford, who heads the corporate team at Freeths in Birmingham added, “I’d like to congratulate both Perveen and Ateeq on their promotions. They are very well deserved and this allows both of them to not only progress their own careers but add value to our clients with their substantial experience.”
