Pinsent Masons’ Vario

Firm expands operations team

Pinsent Masons’ Vario continues the expansion of its operations team to support business growth, with the appointment of Adam Kohl as client development manager, plus two talent acquisition consultants and an operations executive, in newly created roles.

Adam joins after 10 years in strategic recruitment and resourcing roles in FTSE 100/250 and Fortune companies, both in consultancy and in-house, most recently at TMP Worldwide and previously at Babcock and Hays.

The two talent acquisition consultants are Arun Bhatia, and Daniel Hackett, both of whom also have previous resourcing experience in consultancy and in-house roles: Arun over five years, including at global HR services giant Randstad and at the British Transport Police; and Daniel over four years, including at recruitment behemoth Reed, and at global accounting firm EY. Kimberley McDonald joins as operations executive after five years at RBS.

The talent acquisition consultants bring a completely new aspect to the Vario operations team, their role dedicated to reaching out to the top talent in the marketplace and introducing them to the concept of Vario working.

Vario director Matthew Kay, said: “We are seeing ever more demand from clients for contract lawyers, and more interest from lawyers to experience a new way of working.  Our hub of 250 lawyers is growing all the time, and increasingly from parts of the profession who wouldn’t traditionally have considered contracting as an option.

“The phenomenal growth we have seen in recent years shows no sign of abating. Building our central team infrastructure is essential to maintain our high standards of client service delivery—and at the same time make sure our Varios feel as well looked after as our first contractors did in our earliest days, when we were little more than a cottage industry."
