Consultation on online power of attorney applications
The government is consulting on plans to allow people to apply online for lasting powers of attorney so they can legally manage their loved ones’ financial and legal affairs. The proposed creation of a new online service is part of wider proposals to move the work of the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) onto a digital system. The consultation will end on 19 October 2012.
Alan Eccles, head of the OPG, says: “The proposed new online application process will make applying simpler and quicker, while the changes we plan to make in the ‘back-office’ will make the whole service more efficient.”
