Firm expands London disputes practice with senior partner hire

Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan UK LLP has announced the appointment of Andrew Savage as partner in its London office. Formerly with McDermott Will & Emery, where he established and led the London commercial disputes team, Andrew brings extensive experience in international arbitration and high-value cross-border litigation. His practice spans asset management, private equity, financial services, technology, energy and infrastructure sectors, with a strong focus on fraud, corruption, global asset tracing and enforcement.

Andrew has represented leading institutions including Lehman Brothers Finance (in liquidation) and other financial entities in landmark post–credit crunch cases before the High Court and Court of Appeal. He has also appeared in the Supreme Court in notable arbitration matters such as Dallah v Pakistan.

Commenting on his move, Andrew said: ‘Having built a diverse complex international disputes practice, it has become increasingly apparent to me that conflicts at large transactional firms constrain strategy and growth. Quinn Emanuel is a firm I have long admired — its relentless drive to perform at the highest levels resonates strongly with my clients.’

London senior partner Richard East described Andrew as ‘a natural fit for our London office’ with ‘a track record for winning complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes’. Founder and chairman John B. Quinn added: ‘We are only interested in hiring the best disputes lawyers globally and Andrew is firmly in that category. He is an excellent technical lawyer with a material practice and we can’t wait for him to get started.’
