Government proposes to raise more money from court users
Justice Secretary Chris Grayling is considering raising more money from court users, and has asked his department to look into resourcing and administration reform. In a statement to the House of Commons this week, Grayling said he wanted to “ensure that those who litigate in our courts pay their fair share, and that it is possible to raise the revenue and investment necessary to modernise the infrastructure and deliver a better and more flexible service to court users”.
