London office appoints fund finance expert

International firm Reed Smith LLP has welcomed a new partner to its London office. Bronwen Jones is a fund finance specialist who has joined Reed Smith’s financial industry group, after 14 years at Macfarlanes where she was previously the head of investment fund finance.

Bronwen is an expert in banking and finance matters, and regularly represents financial institutions, sponsors and fund managers. Her experience in fund finance matters includes capital call facilities, asset-backed facilities, and co-investment facilities, and she also handles acquisition finance, workouts and restructurings.

Chair of the financial industry group Edward Estrada commented: ‘Bronwen is an extremely talented lawyer who has played a pivotal role in the development of the funds finance market in Europe. Her experience and background make her a perfect fit for our finance practice.’

Vice-chair of the group Nola Beirne added: ‘Bronwen is one of the key players in the funds finance market in London. Reed Smith already has a one of the most experienced and largest funds finance teams in London, led by Leon Stephenson and Nick Stainthorpe. The arrival of Bronwen will substantially assist us to achieve our strategic ambition of becoming the market leading funds finance practice in Europe.’
