Richard Pinckney—Bristows

Partner joins patent litigation team

Bristows LLP has announced the promotion of Richard Pinckney to the firm’s partnership.

Richard will become a partner in Bristows’ internationally acclaimed patent litigation team. He offers extensive experience of complex multi-jurisdictional disputes in the TMT, engineering and electronics sectors. Richard’s practice will focus on patent litigation but will extend to cover a range of advice in relation to contentious IP disputes.

“I am delighted to become a member of a firm with such a rich history, sound values and positive outlook. I look forward to continue my contribution to the success of the firm, its clients and the talented individuals who make it such a great place to work,” he said

Joint managing partner, Theo Savvides, expressed delight, saying: “Richard is an exciting addition to our strong bench of patent litigation partners. He lives and breathes our values and will help safeguard the culture we are so well known for in the years to come.”

Richard has a background in engineering and is a solicitor advocate with full rights of audience before the English courts.

Brian Cordery, joint head of patent litigation adds: “We’re delighted to welcome Richard to our 11 partner team of patent litigators. Richard will focus mainly on the TMT sector where we have witnessed a significant uptick in business in the last few years. Richard trained with Bristows and so is steeped in our philosophy and culture.  Needless to say, he’s also a talented cyclist and so will be of considerable value on corporate challenges.”
