Robert Bond—Bristows

Data privacy partner joins firm

Partner Robert Bond, formerly at Charles Russell Speechlys, joins the commercial IT team of London-based law firm Bristows. He will be joined by commercial IP and IT associates, Janine Regan and Alexander Dittel.

Robert brings over 37 years of expertise and an exceptional reputation for his advice to national and international clients on all of their commercial IP, technology and data protection needs. He is esteemed as a legal expert and author in the fields of e-commerce, computer games, media and publishing, data protection, information security and cyber risks. Robert also provides international notarial services and compliance advice and is admitted to practise as a Notary Public in England and Wales. He is also certified as a Compliance and Ethics Professional.

"I am thrilled to be joining such an elite law firm with its recognised first class data protection and IP practices. The combination of Bristows’ expertise and status alongside the strength of our team makes us a force to be reckoned with and an obvious choice for clients," Robert said.

Mark Watts, Bristows’ head of commercial IT, says: “I’ve known Robert for years. He has been consistently ranked as one of the top data protection lawyers in the field, and, in this respect, Bristows is a natural home for him. His practice, with its focus on technology and the US, could not be a better fit with our team here.”

Joint managing partners Theo Savvides and Marek Petecki also welcome Robert and his team to Bristows, saying:  “Our data protection practice has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and Robert’s arrival further consolidates our position as one of the principal data protection firms in Europe.”
