Russell-Cooke—Grant Incles

Law firm welcomes partner to personal injury team
Law firm Russell-Cooke has welcomed Grant Incles as a partner in its personal injury and clinical negligence team. Grant joined the firm on 4 January 2022.

Grant is a personal injury specialist with a particular expertise in life-changing injuries (both in personal injury and clinical negligence). His life-changing injury practice covers spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and amputation cases. He specialises in cycling-related injury cases and campaigns for better conditions for cyclists to promote mass-participation in cycling.

Grant began his career in 1999. He brings with him wide experience in providing services to survivors of major trauma via NHS-approved solicitor panels and leading a team of lawyers providing exclusive legal services to members of a major national cycling body.

In 2020 he was named The Times Lawyer of the Week for his work representing the claimant in the landmark ruling of Swift v Carpenter. The case changed the law in relation to the calculation of damages for special accommodation compensation claims following injury so that in future, seriously injured claimants will receive fairer compensation.

Commenting on his recent appointment, Grant said: 'I am passionate about helping those whose lives have been changed forever by serious injury whether from road traffic accidents or otherwise. I’m equally passionate about my special interest which is cycling—getting people on the road but ensuring they are able to use the road safely; and doing all I can to help those who have suffered serious injury while cycling. I’m excited to kick off the new year by joining Russell-Cooke where I look forward to doing what I do best with a fantastic team around me.'

PI and clinical negligence partner Janice Gardner added: 'Grant’s arrival is an exciting move for us. We are very serious and ambitious about the team and what we can achieve here, particularly in our specialism of life-changing injuries, and Grant’s experience and profile will add a shot of adrenalin to the practice. We welcome Grant and look forward to working with him.'
