SA Law—Catherine Banks

Firm welcomes head of residential conveyancing as it marks 20th anniversary

SA Law has appointed Catherine Banks as head of residential conveyancing, marking a significant leadership change as the firm celebrates its 20th anniversary. Catherine steps into the role following the retirement of Steve Kenneford, a founding member of the department, who retired on 19 June after two decades of service.

Steve Kenneford was instrumental in establishing and growing SA Law’s residential conveyancing team since the firm’s inception in 2005. He was known for his ‘commitment, knowledge, and attention to client needs’, according to Steve Ryan, joint managing partner. Ryan added that the firm is ‘excited to see the department continue to grow under [Catherine’s] leadership’.

Catherine joins from Tees Law, where she led the residential property team and developed a strong focus on equity release arrangements. She brings a wealth of experience in residential transactions, including sales, purchases, and capital release for homeowners. Her appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen SA Law’s offering in this area.

‘It’s a real privilege to be joining SA Law during its 20th anniversary year,’ said Catherine. She praised the firm’s ‘well-deserved reputation for property law excellence’ and expressed her commitment to ‘continuing to deliver a high-quality, client-focused service’ while expanding the equity release offering.
