West End law firm, Seddons, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Wevill as a Partner and Head of Construction.

John joins Seddons from Boodle Hatfield where he was also Head of Construction and his appointment is with immediate effect. John is acknowledged in his field as a leader by both Chambers and the Legal 500, and his appointment reflects Seddons’ commitment to investment and growth in its market leading real estate offering.

He also acts for banks, funders and purchasers on the construction due diligence aspects of high value developments. With a background in dispute resolution, John has acted on a number of high value adjudications acting for developers and professional consultants, both for referring and responding parties.

At Seddons, John will work closely with the Real Estate Finance team to advise developers, lenders, professional consultants, contractors and insurers on a broad range of commercial projects and disputes.

John Wevill, Partner and Head of Construction at Seddons, said: “I am delighted to join Seddons and work alongside the firm’s incredibly talented individuals. I look forward to further driving the Construction practice forward as we service the increasing client demand as the construction sector emerges strongly from the pandemic.”

Seddons Managing Partner, Simon Ross, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome John to the firm. His arrival marks another step forward in-line with our ambitious growth strategy. John brings significant and valuable experience across non-contentious work and disputes in this sector, and his collaborative approach makes him a great fit for our team as we continue to grow and develop our construction and real estate proposition.”
