Firm appoints new financial services expert in London
Setfords has welcomed solicitor advocate Michael Cotter as a consultant in its London office.
Michael trained as a barrister before becoming a solicitor in 2012, and joins the firm after two years as the London director of FS Legal. He specialises in financial services advice, and has experience handling large-scale fraud cases, investigations by regulatory bodies, and professional negligence.
Firm co-head Guy Setford said: ‘Michael is a tenacious and highly respected litigator who brings a wealth of experience to Setfords’ commercial team. His services will allow a range of clients to recover losses, and pursue justice where they have faced unfair and even fraudulent practices from financial service providers.’
Commenting on his arrival, Michael said: ‘Setfords is the perfect full-service platform for my clients who require my specialist services. As a litigator I thrive in advancing and protecting my clients’ interests and advising as on all available options. The financial services industry is constantly evolving and as part of Setfords I am ideally placed to offer services related to emerging products such as cryptocurrency, as well as assisting clients in the context of Britain’s exit from the EU.’
