Shakespeare Martineau—Daniel Okusaga

London corporate team announces strategic partner hire

Shakespeare Martineau has appointed Daniel Okusaga as a partner in its London office, bolstering the firm’s corporate offering. With more than 15 years’ experience in corporate law, Daniel brings expertise across public and private M&A, equity capital markets, corporate finance, and complex group reorganisations.

Daniel said he was drawn to the firm for its ‘collaborative culture and genuine investment in its people’, adding: ‘It’s clear this is a place where entrepreneurial lawyers can thrive.’ He described his career as spanning ‘the full lifecycle of businesses – from start-up fundraising to public market exits and global reorganisations’, and emphasised his passion for helping clients navigate structural and strategic challenges.

Before joining Shakespeare Martineau, Daniel spent six years at KPMG leading cross-border legal restructuring projects for multinational clients in sectors such as energy, ICT, manufacturing and financial services. He also has a strong background in private equity and M&A from previous roles at leading law firms.

Victoria Tester, partner and managing director, said: ‘Daniel’s mix of transactional experience, strategic thinking and client focus is a fantastic addition to our team.’ His appointment supports the firm’s continued investment in London and enhances its capabilities in corporate reorganisation and cross-border advisory work.
