Real estate disputes team strengthened by London partner hire

Full-service law firm Shakespeare Martineau has appointed Jonathan Warren as a partner in its London real estate disputes team. He joins from Teacher Stern, where he was joint head of the real estate disputes department, bringing more than 17 years’ experience in property litigation gained at Finers Stephens Innocent (now Howard Kennedy), Mishcon de Reya, and as in-house counsel at a major residential property management company.

A highly regarded property litigator, Warren advises on the full range of real estate disputes, landlord and tenant matters, risk analysis, and alternative dispute resolution. In recent years, he has led some of the first remediation contribution order and building liability order claims arising from the Building Safety Act. In his new role, he will focus on expanding the firm’s London disputes capability and supporting complex litigation cases.

‘I’m thrilled to be joining Shakespeare Martineau and contributing to the growth of the London office,’ said Warren. ‘The opportunity to help develop our real estate disputes offering and work with a talented, forward-looking team is incredibly exciting.’ He added that he looks forward to ‘helping clients achieve creative, effective solutions to complex problems while supporting the next generation of lawyers’.

Victoria Tester, managing director at the firm, said: ‘Jonathan is a highly skilled and trusted litigator with deep experience in complex property disputes. His commercial insight, technical expertise and track record of delivering results for clients make him a fantastic addition to the team.’ She noted that his arrival ‘strengthens our London real estate disputes capability and aligns with our strategy to provide innovative, client-focused solutions’.
