Shakespeare Martineau—Serena Eddy

London restructuring team strengthened by legal director appointment

National law firm Shakespeare Martineau has appointed Serena Eddy as a legal director in its London office, bolstering its restructuring, recovery and insolvency team as it continues to expand its contentious and cross-border capabilities. The hire supports the firm’s growth strategy in complex insolvency disputes and asset recovery work.

Eddy joins from Irwin Mitchell, where she was a senior associate and contentious lead in the restructuring and insolvency group. With nearly a decade of post-qualification experience, she advises insolvency practitioners, creditors, directors and stakeholders on corporate and personal insolvency matters, with a focus on investigations, litigation and asset recovery, including high-value cross-border and fraud-related disputes.

She said: ‘I’m delighted to be joining Shakespeare Martineau at such an exciting point in the firm’s journey. The restructuring team has built a strong reputation for high-quality work and collaborative client relationships… I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the firm to build on the team’s success and support clients navigating complex and often cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters.’

Andrew Taylor, partner and head of restructuring, added: ‘We’re very pleased to welcome Serena to the team… Her appointment reflects our continued investment in the London market and ambition to grow our restructuring and insolvency offering in the capital.’
