Partnership grows with hires & promotions

London and St Albans firm Sherrards has bolstered its ranks with an internal promotion and a lateral hire.

Andrew Cooke (pictured) has been with the firm for five years and will now take up the role of partner in the corporate team. He regularly advises on international and domestic M&A deals, joint venture agreements and restructurings, amongst a host of other corporate commercial issues. He also offers particular expertise in the fintech sector.

The firm has also recruited Michael Lewis as a partner, who previously spent a number of years at Clyde & Co. He will now head the firm’s property litigation team, and offers ample experience advising developers, retailers, high net worth individuals, and other players in the real estate field.

Sherrards’ managing partner Alasdair McMillin commented: ‘Attracting and retaining the best legal talent to work with our growing and diverse client base is critical to Sherrards’ success. Our modern working environment and the office locations next to City Thameslink and St Albans City station, with a 30-minute journey between the two, is proving very attractive to both clients and lawyers. Andrew’s promotion and Michael’s recruitment is a great step forward for Sherrards.’
