Shital MehtaI & Christian Le Gouais—IBB Solicitors

Real estate group strengthened with partner promotions

IBB Solicitors has announced two partner promotions in its real estate group. Shital Mehta is promoted from senior solicitor to partner in the new homes team, having served as team leader for the past six months. Christian Le Gouais has been promoted from senior solicitor to partner in the residential development team.

Shital joined IBB in 2002 as a residential conveyancing specialist. She has a wealth of experience in a wide range of residential property matters, with particular expertise in advising on high value transactions for both private individuals and corporate developers. Shital’s team acts for national house-builders on the sale of new homes. Her clients appreciate her dedication to ensuring that purchasers have the best possible experience throughout the conveyancing process. Shital is known for her attention to detail and for adopting an uncompromisingly firm (but fair) approach in securing the best outcomes for her clients.

Christian is a key member of the firm’s residential development team. Christian’s practice focuses on residential and mixed-use developments. He has acted on a number of the largest residential and mixed-use developments in the UK and has extensive expertise in complex overage agreements and infrastructure and planning agreements. Christian’s clients note his commercial nous and ability to see through the legal complexities to what the client wants to achieve, despite the obstacles that stand in their way.

Joanna DeBiase, managing partner at IBB, comments: “It is a pleasure to welcome Shital and Christian to the partnership, and their elevation is richly deserved. Both have excellent client service skills, and draw on their significant insight into their industry to deliver legal services that are commercial and pragmatic. They truly understand what makes their clients tick. These promotions underline our commitment to meeting our clients’ needs by supporting and developing the best talent we can find, and giving our people the authority and freedom to deliver the high quality commercial advice those clients expect from IBB.”

Nominations for the Halsbury Legal Awards 2016, in association with NLJ, are now open. Visit the site to view all the categories and enter online. #Halsbury2016
