Shulmans LLP

Firm makes promotions & a senior appointment within its CDR team

Shulmans LLP has strengthened its commercial dispute resolution (CDR) team with the promotion of three of its solicitors, Ellie Cooke, Laura Hill and Sara Souyave, to associate level, and the appointment of Paul Lewis as senior solicitor.

Ellie will continue to develop specialisms in contentious probate work alongside Paul, formerly a partner at Gordons LLP. He brings more than 20 years of experience in dispute resolution, contentious trusts, probate and estates claims. As a member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists, Paul’s expertise lies in dealing with executors, disputed wills and legacies, in addition to claims brought by family members and dependents.

Laura and Sara, along with Ellie, will continue to be integral to the CDR team in a variety of fields including insurance litigation, professional negligence and significant commercial disputes.

Robert Whitehead, joint head of dispute resolution, says: “Our promotions and new appointment bring additional strength and experience to our already successful CDR team.”

Tim Halstead, Shulmans’ managing partner, adds: “We are delighted to celebrate the hard work of our newly promoted associates and welcome our new recruit. Having broken through the £10m turnover barrier last year, our aim is not to rest on our laurels but to build on this achievement, ensuring we provide a consistently excellent service to our clients. The knowledge and experience of our newly promoted and appointed colleagues will further strengthen our team and ultimately, allow us to continue our firm-wide success in 2016.”
