Sidley has rehired Jeremy Trinder as a partner in its global finance group in London. He joins from Latham & Watkins LLP, where he was a partner and former global co-chair of the real estate practice. Trinder previously worked as an associate in Sidley’s London office between 2000 and 2005.
He brings more than 30 years’ experience advising sponsors, lenders and borrowers on high-value and complex cross-border real estate investment, financing and restructuring transactions. His practice spans commercial mortgage and mezzanine loans, distressed debt acquisitions and non-performing loans, as well as mortgage-backed securities.
Brian Fahrney, chair of Sidley’s executive committee, said: ‘Jeremy’s track record, substantial client following, and deep experience in advising on real estate financing matters speaks for itself,’ adding that his arrival ‘underlines our commitment to add elite talent to our cross-border work in the real estate space’.
Tom Thesing, managing partner of the London office, described Trinder as ‘a known leader on real estate finance transactions’ and said the hire would support the firm’s efforts to ‘develop our cross-border capabilities with significant additions in London for clients in Europe and across the world’.
