Firm appointment leading international commercial litigator
Signature Litigation has announced that leading international commercial litigation and arbitration specialist Simon Bushell has joined the firm as a partner. Simon was previously a partner at Latham & Watkins, and London chair of its litigation & trial department. Prior to this, Simon was a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills.
Simon acts for a broad range of clients, including large corporates, private equity houses, financial institutions, banks and ultra high net worth individuals, in addition to foreign government agencies and state-owned companies. He has undertaken investigations into complex, worldwide frauds, conspiracies and insolvencies, and has wide experience in coordinating parallel cross border disputes and proceedings before a number of courts and tribunals.
He has a pre-eminent reputation in dealing with high stakes disputes, including representing a variety of foreign state-owned entities and other clients with strategic interests in the banking, energy, telecoms and natural resources sectors in the region. He also has extensive experience in representing clients across high value art disputes, as well as other alternative investments, including acting for a major auction house.
Simon commented: “Signature has a formidable reputation as a conflict free, exclusively disputes focused firm, with a fearless approach to handling complex cases. I am relishing the opportunity to add to their compelling platform.”
Founding partner, Graham Huntley, said: “Simon's strong reputation, especially in civil fraud, speaks for itself. We have grown substantially and Signature is a strong platform for another senior litigator such as him. He is highly commercial, imaginative and a great tactician—all skills that Simon will maximise here at Signature as part of our team of ten partners and 30 fee earners.”
