Legal resourcing arm of Pinsent Masons hires head of operations

Vario, the legal resourcing arm of Pinsent Masons, has recruited Simon Rickman, who joins as head of operations from TMP Worldwide.

Simon has held a number of senior recruitment roles at businesses including Accenture, and American Express. His first job will be to hire six new recruits across a variety of roles in operations and resourcing, the majority of whom will be based in Birmingham. Simon will split his time between the Midlands and London.

Vario is also planning to hire a further two senior members to its account management team in the next couple of months.

Director of Vario, Matthew Kay, says: “We have experienced significant growth—our hub of 250 lawyers is growing all the time, we’re seeing more and more demand from clients for contract lawyers and it became essential for us to increase our operational capacity to meet this need."

“The operations team is in charge of ensuring we continue to hire skilled contract lawyers across the UK and they act as a liaison between our Varios and clients."

“We have had a strong year financially and we expect to see this growth trajectory continue. This market is evolving rapidly, as businesses across a variety of sectors increasingly recognise the need for contract lawyers."

“I am confident the hire of Simon, who has an impressive background in professional services recruitment, will help ensure Vario continues to take on the very best contract and freelance lawyers, across all levels of experience, and then match these lawyers with our clients to best complement not only their skill set but their personality too.”
