he Law Society has set up a mentoring group of solicitor judges as part of a package to encourage more solicitors to the bench.

The package includes a video with a role-playing exercise where the candidate plays the part of a judge in a simulated case, a programme of outreach training where solicitor-judges share their experience, and a series of judicial appointments training courses throughout England and Wales.

The mentoring group will encourage colleagues and help to demystify the process.
