Taylor Wessing

Firm announces wave of promotions

Global firm Taylor Wessing has announced a raft of promotions in its London office, effective as of 1 May 2018.

Of the eight promotions the firm will carry out, three names will be joining the partnership. These include Katie Chandler, who specialises in commercial disputes, particularly within the consumer and retail, technology, and life sciences sectors; Lerika Joubert, who handles banking and finance mandates and is also qualified to practise in South Africa; and Edward Story, a corporate expert who advises private companies and high net worth individuals.

In addition to the three new partners, the firm has also promoted five lawyers to the position of senior counsel. These are:

  • Alexander Erskine in the private client team.
  • Saufung Ma in IP/IT, who specialises in patent work.
  • Jill Hamilton, part of the construction and engineering group.
  • Jane Hilton, who handles commercial real estate matters.
  • Natalie Pilagos, who advises on disputes in the construction sector.

Commenting on these promotions, managing partner Tim Eyles said: ‘As we've been through our promotions process this year, it's been inspiring to hear the creative ideas each of these individuals has for the future of our business. Their original thinking and willingness always to challenge and be challenged are qualities we value just as highly as their technical skill and client relationships – and indeed which we think add to the latter. In a time of such transformation for the legal sector, I congratulate warmly all who have been promoted and look forward to seeing what they bring to our clients and our people in the future.’
