Taylor Wessing—Max Millington

Banking and finance team welcomes partner in London

Global law firm Taylor Wessing has appointed Max Millington as a partner in its London banking and finance team. Millington joins from another international firm, bringing extensive experience in leveraged finance and event-driven corporate lending.

Millington is recognised for his expertise in private credit and sponsor-side advisory work, with a strong record advising private equity sponsors and lenders on domestic and cross-border deals. His arrival bolsters Taylor Wessing’s leveraged finance and private credit capabilities, aligning with the firm’s strategy to deepen its mid-market offering alongside its private equity team.

UK managing partner Shane Gleghorn said the firm was ‘delighted to welcome Max’, adding that his appointment ‘reinforces our commitment to the private equity and private credit market’. Heather Buttle, head of the UK banking and finance team, said Millington’s ‘comprehensive understanding of both the sponsor and lender perspectives’ would ‘further strengthen our service offering’.

Millington said he was ‘very pleased to join Taylor Wessing’s banking and finance team’ and looked forward to ‘spearheading growth in leveraged finance and private credit’. The hire comes amid strong demand in the leveraged finance market, with private equity and credit funds holding substantial capital ready for deployment.
